vFSHS has been selected to perform at the American High School Theatre Festival at the world's greatest theatre gathering, the Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland in August 2019. Anyone interested in traveling should come to the parent meeting TUESDAY at 7:45 p.m. in Ms. Bin's room.

vWednesday, May 2 is the American Heart Association Dodgeball Tourney. Rules of Play: 5 team members per team (all grades, doesn't have to be coed), $10 per team ($2 each), must take names of team members and team name to the front office or to Mr. Martin in the gym. Pay when signing up. Deadline to enter: Wednesday. See Hannah Reel with any questions. 

vThespian Comedy Improv NightFRIDAY at 7 p.m. at Common Ground. $5 donations requested for admittance.

vIf you plan to participate in sports, cheer, or dance in the 2018-19 school year, you must have a physical taken after May 1, 2018. Mercy sports physicals will be Wednesday, May 2 from 4:30-6:30 for $10 (which will be donated back to the district). No appointments necessary. Stop by the office to pick up a physical form. Be ready for the first day of practice!

vSummer Employment: The Fort (Fort Scott NHS) is looking for some youth to serve with the Youth Conservation Corps. Requirements include: Must be between the ages of 15-18, U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, and have a valid Social Security Number. More information and applications are in the Counseling Office. Deadline to apply: April 30

vGirls not attending the volleyball meeting but plan to play volleyball next year, stop by Ms. Campbell's room (114) to pick up forms. 

vThe Thespian Banquet immediately follows the Student Directed One-Act Plays on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a dessert. Free will donation to attend.



KDOT in Fort Scott has (2) Positions immediately available. Equipment Operator Trainee (will get trained and get assistance in getting a CDL License). Beginning pay is $12.66/hr. Must be 18 years old.  Apply online at jobs.ks.gov (or see Mr. Altic).

Directions to Parsons Tennis - 69 South to Hwy 7/39. Go west to “T” (59 Hwy). Turn left (south) and follow 59 south about 8 miles and follow 59 south left (towards Erie) – stay on 59 south in to Parsons – turn left (east) on Main St. go to 13th street – turn right (south) on 13th and follow it to Forrest Park.

Directions to Paola Baseball/Softball - 69 North. Take 311th Street exit.  Turn left onto W. 311th, then turn right onto Baptiste Drive.  Turn right onto Hedge Lane Rd.    709 Hedge Lane Road

Directions to LCHS Softball/Baseball - US 69 S to Girard/ Chanute exit (KS HWY 7) (KS 39). Continue west on KS 39 to T intersection (US 59 S). Turn left. Continue on US 59 S about 8 miles to where US 59 turns south. Turn left and continue on US 59 through Erie and on through Parsons and 10 miles south of Parsons to T intersection. Turn right (96). Altamont is a couple of miles west. Turn left on Wabash. The ball fields are on the South end of the campus next to the football field.

Directions to Coffeyville Softball/Baseball - US 69 S to Girard/ Chanute exit (KS HWY 7) (KS 39). Continue west on KS 39 to T intersection (US 59 S). Turn left. Continue on US 59 south about 8 miles to where US 59 turns south. Turn left and continue on US 59 through Erie. Turn right on US 400 toward Fredonia. Continue on US 400 to the US 169 intersection. Go south on US 169 to Hwy 166 (into Coffeyville from the east). Follow 166 past the college to Buckeye. Turn right (north) on Buckeye and follow it past the hospital (about 1.5 miles). Turn left (west) on Woodland. Follow this to the Softball Complex.

Directions to Columbus Golf- 69 S to Pittsburg. Stay on 69 S out of Pittsburg and go to Crestline Corner (4-way stop). Go right (west) at that corner (Hwy 160 – go about 5 or 6 miles to the course on the south side of the road-1260 SE HWY 160

Directions to Girard Track - 69 S to Highway 7 – follow 7 in to Girard: Track - Go past GHS (it is on the west side of the road). The track is on the west side of the campus.
