WANT TO BE A FIRE FIGHTER?

The Fort Scott Fire Department is beginning to accept applications for our 2021 Fire Reserve Recruitment class.  The FSFD will first consider candidates who hold FF1 Hazmat OPS/ Awareness certifications first.

The FSFD could possibly select the right candidate for recruitment and in house training. That is determined in the testing process.  You must be 18 or older to apply.

If interested, please fill out an application online at www.fscity.org. Find the Fire Reserve tab or just fill out a general application and state what position for which you are applying.

Deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, December 30th.  After review, letters will be mailed to selected applicants to be tested in mid-January.  Again, candidates who possess certifications will be selected first.

The testing process consists of 3 phases:

Physical Agility

Written Test / Writing Assessment

Formal Interview

The Reserve program is a part-time firefighter position which consists of working when a full-time member takes time off.  It is a great program to get prepared for full-time status when the opportunity arises.  Hours can be flexible.

If you have any questions please reach out to Mike on the flyer at either of the two numbers listed above.
